Mission Organization 01/21/2012
It's been a busy Saturday, well mostly busy around the homestead today. We have been in the midst of organising our home office. Well it looks great thanks to Laura who has done a lot of work on both sides of our shared space. A lot of stuff has been thrown away and things have some good order to it. I am pleased with everything that has happened. Add Comment Some Site Renovations 01/14/2012
I have sadly ignored this site for awhile. Today I have done some renovations to the frontpage to give it a fresh look while keeping the overall look familiar and user friendly. My social buttons on the front page have been tweaked and a Google Plus button added. This is a good overall site with plenty of information on who I am what I am all about. For awhile I used this as my primary page and perhaps with some TLC it can be again. One thing that works against it is the blog cannot be updated from my phone but other than that its a good system. It's been a good day today. We went out to breakfast with Laura's mother and I installed a new cable box for her so she could get HD on her new TV set. This afternoon we are taking it easy. On Thursday night (Friday morning) we went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter 7.2 and we are still tired from it. The weather seems nice but doesn't seem to be as hot. The plan for this evening is go to the movies in the park which is sponsored by First things First. It's going to be a good rest of the weekend I predict. Check out this great report about my alma mater Hiwassee College. Tonight we are going out to see the midnight showing (12:11 AM) of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 tonight. We have never done this sort of thing before so it will be fun. We will be very tired tomorrow but it will be worth it...we think. This will be kind of sad though considering its the end of the franchise. Its Very Hot Outside, Stay Cool! 07/12/2011
Today its supposed to be close to 100 degrees here in Chattanooga. I can think back to winter when we had 6 inches of snow on the ground and it was very cold. Weather here can be very unpredictable and often weird. Tornadoes in April did some serious damage which many are still recovering from. But as we sit here on July 12, 2011 the weather has been a hot streak as of late. The humidity is breath taking and kind of rough. Keeping indoors if you can, keeping hydrated and frequent breaks when doing a lot of activities can help one cope. I am ready for cooler weather but that might mean October or November before that comes. Be safe and stay cool, if you can. News you never want to hear. 07/11/2011
My first youth minister Rev. Chris Graham is a good and Godly man. He has a wife and two kids and has always worked hard for God. I found out today he has ALS which is commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. It's an advanced case which has quickly impacted his mental and physical faculties. I am truly sad. It was news I didn't expect to hear. He and wife Carol's lives have been changed what seems forever. I am praying for this family that God's healing will be upon him and comfort his wife and their kids. God bless them. A Daily Blog for July 10, 2011 07/11/2011
It's Monday and it will be a full work week. Five days of keeping ones nose to the grind stone. Things were a little better today and we didn't have the post-holiday issues that my work provides. The weather today has been humid and hot. I am blessed to have a indoor desk job. Tonight we had grilled meatloaf and mashed potatoes for supper. We are settling in for an evening of chilling out and watching TV. The day seems to be better Being Yourself...A Great Quote 07/10/2011
I found this graphic over on Tumblr. It suited me very well and is an encouragement to me. Being myself is something I should never be afraid of. A Daily Blog for July 10, 2011 07/10/2011
Wow, today has been busy. It started with early wake up to review Sunday school lesson and to have breakfast. Laura's leftover scones with my omelets helped energize our morning. We went to church for Sunday school and worship. This afternoon we ate lunch with our friend Will at McDonalds. Then on to a reception at church for our new district superintendent of the UMC. So we have had a busy day and its not done. We head back to church in a couple of hours for evening worship. We are both tired but we gotta keep going. I am glad to be home for a bit to rest and relax. | My BlogArchivesJanuary 2012 Twitter
