Here is what the Sydney (Australia)Daily Telegraph newspaper website looks like ringing in 2011.
![]() Remember back in 1999 when everyone was paranoid about the new millennium. Well the movie "Entrapment" uses that fear to rob a multi-national bank. The film starring Academy Award winners Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones is about two thieves trying to steal billions from a bank through electronic measures. It marries very well two concepts old fashioned stealing with modern technology. ![]() Design is something you don't expect guys to talk about. I think its an important part of life. God the greatest designer should inspire us to make places and spaces that are hospitable, visually appealing and functional. Some of the best designers know the details that will provide those attributes. In the first chapter of Genesis God designs the Heaven's and the Earth in such a way to make a place for his great creation to live with one another. I am a fan of HGTV something else guys don't typically admit. The designers on this channel take elements such as furnishings, embellishments, colours and textures to make something beautiful. It requires paying attention to details. They can make something new and also give an old spot a second chance by renovation. I think there is something to be said about design because it seems to be about creation and re-creation. I think some churches try to over-think, over-complicate and drown you in activities that you don't have time to be out and about to offer folks Christ. Less can be more. Sometimes getting back to basics worship, fellowship, discipleship is a good thing. ![]() I am a fan of the movie "The Matrix". This film offers action, adventure, technology, religion, philosophy and some poetic fight scenes. According to IMDB.com the movie is about A computer hacker learns from mysterious rebels about the true nature of his reality and his role in the war against its controllers. Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Laurence Fishburne are truly amazing to watch. We saw this movie is visually stunning and thought provoking. For a 11 year old movie it holds up very well. ![]() Today I started watching "Adam 12" season one DVD that Santa/Laura got me for Christmas. For those not familiar "Adam 12" is a uniformed police drama that ran on NBC from 1968-1975. It starred Martin Milner as officer Pete Malloy and Kent McCord as Jim Reed who patrolled the streets of Los Angeles in their police cruiser 1-Adam-12. It was created by Jack Webb who gave us "Dragnet". Thank you honey for this great gift. Christmas 2010 was the first White Christmas since 1969. The snow blanketed our neighborhood and has made things look very beautiful. Now its time for the snow to go. The left picture is Christmas Day. The right picture is December 28, 2010. The forecast for the next few days is a good one. Its going to warm up but rain is predicted for the end of the week and end of the year. It has been very cold in December, a contrast to the heat of June and July. I am ready for normal temps. I am so looking forward to the next series of the British sci-fi classic show "Doctor Who". Matt Smith has done an amazing job as the "Doctor" and his companion "Amy Pond" played by Karen Gilian is very good too. Here is a video sneak peak for you. ![]() I just recently started using Skype. It's the service that lets you make internet voice and video calls. You can also use it for long distance computer to land line calls too. For Christmas I got a webcam and started using it. My dad, granddad and some friends use it. I have to say it's pretty cool indeed. | My BlogArchivesJanuary 2012 Twitter
